We can provide an extensive range of high performance geocomposite drainage systems. Designed to provide an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional structural drainage techniques, it provides high flow capacity at high strengths and added protection to waterproofing. The geocomposite consists of a cuspated impermeable core or a polymer net, pre-bonded to a non woven geotextile fabric on one or both sides which acts as both a filter and a separation layer. Various thicknesses are available, dependent on flow and compressive strength requirements. These replace the need to use the traditional method of granular stone drainage which can save time and costs.
Geocomposite drainage can be used horizontally or vertically in buried structures, bridge abutments, basement walls and at the back of retaining walls. The HDPE cuspated core of the geocomposite provides a free flowing drainage void. The cuspates are designed to support the geotextile which is bonded to the core to ensure that it doesn’t deform into the drainage void under the pressure of the backfill material. It allows flow in all directions, unlike linear or pipe systems.
Highways Edge Drainage
A cost effective alternative to traditional stone drainage for highway edge drains and concrete central reservation drainage. The geocomposite collects and channels liquids and gases to a carrier pipe for transportation to a suitable discharge point along the highway.
This system is a preformed, high performance drainage system designed to replace traditional pipe and filter stone drainage for use beneath existing grass sports pitches. It can be produced in strips of 150mm and 300mm which is fully encapsulated by the geotextile and can be laid in a trench just 35mm wide, this results in less disturbance of the playing surface than encountered with laying pipes and gravel, along with less materials to remove from the facility.
Green Roof Drainage & Attenuation Layer
In this application, the geocomposite attenuates water whilst allowing free drainage during periods of peak rainfall. Water is stored within the cusps of the HDPE core, whilst separate perforations allow the efficient drainage of excess water away from the roof when the cuspates overflow. This helps prevent the root growing media from drying out during dry periods and from becoming waterlogged during periods of heavy rain.
